Global advisory firm Teneo plans for expansion outside the USA.
Charles Watson will join the Teneo Holdings senior management team and his role will include leading Teneo’s planned expansion outside the USA - both by supporting the continued growth of its existing businesses in key markets such as London, the Gulf and Greater China, and via acquisition.
Charles was formerly the Group CEO of Financial Dynamics, where he led FD’s MBO in 2003 and subsequent sale to FTI Consulting in 2006. He departed FTI Consulting in 2012 and more recently has chaired a number private companies including London-based marketing services agency Karma Communications Group.
This move reunites Charles with one of his Financial Dynamics/FTI Consulting management colleagues Declan Kelly, the former U.S. Special Envoy to Northern Ireland. Kelly founded Teneo in 2011 along with Doug Band and Paul Keary and the firm has now grown to a a 250 person advisory business in 12 countries.
Charles will be based in Teneo’s London office. The firm's UK operations will continue to be led by Richard Beck.
Commenting on the appointment, Declan Kelly said: “I am delighted to welcome Charles into the Teneo fold. As someone with whom I have partnered closely and successfully in the past, and a highly experienced and successful business leader in the context of building professional consulting businesses on a global basis, he will be an invaluable addition to our senior leadership team”.
Charles added: “Having now had the opportunity to spend quality time with the wider Teneo team, I have been astounded by the success and effectiveness of its business model, the quality of its client base and the depth and experience of the talent that Declan, Doug and Paul have assembled. Teneo’s approach is without doubt defining a new model for strategic consulting and it provides an extraordinarily exciting platform from which to now build a truly global business“
